B4 - Check For Open IDM In Harness

^ DVOM on 200K ohm scale.

^ Measure resistance between Pin 4 (IDM) of the PCM connector and J4 (COIL-) at the breakout box.

^ Is resistance between 20K and 24K ohms?


YES -- Replace PCM. Remove all test equipment. Reconnect all components. Clear continuous memory. Rerun quick test.



NO -- IDM shorted or open in harness between PCM connector and coil- in-line (REFER to schematics). Service or replace IDM line or IDM resistor in harness. Remove all test equipment. Reconnect all components. Clear continuous memory. Rerun quick test.
