Camshaft Bearing: Service and Repair

When necessary to replace camshaft bearings, engine must be removed from vehicle and plug at the rear of the cylinder block must be removed in order to utilize the special camshaft bearing removal and installation tools required to do this job. If properly installed, camshaft bearings require no reaming--nor should this type bearing be reamed or altered in any manner in an attempt to fit bearings.
