Shoulder Belt Retractor and Lap Belt Buckle Assembly
REMOVAL1. Cycle shoulder safety straps to A-pillar position. Remove shoulder belt from emergency release buckle of motor and track carrier assembly, allowing safety straps to retract into retractor.
2. Disconnect seat wiring at floor.
3. Remove front seat and seat track assembly.
4. Remove support assembly with belt/retractor assembly, and lap belt buckle/strap assembly still attached. Remove front retaining hex nut and bolt. Remove rear Torx(r) head bolt retaining support assembly to seat track. Remove support assembly.
5. Remove Torx(r) head bolt retaining lap belt buckle assembly to support assembly. Remove buckle assembly.
6. Remove nut and washer assembly retaining shoulder strap retractor assembly to shoulder strap support.
7. Rotate retractor up away from support assembly until hooks disengage and remove retractor from support assembly by pulling stud out of hole.
INSTALLATION
1. Grasp shoulder strap/retractor assembly and engage retractor mounting stud into hole in support assembly. With retractor pivoted up approximately 45 degrees, loosely install retaining nut and washer assembly.
2. Rotate retractor down toward support assembly, making sure both retractor housing locking hooks engage into support assembly and that the retractor (rear) attachment bracket lies on opposite side of support assembly.
3. Position lap belt buckle and strap assembly to indexing tabs on belt and retractor assembly mounting strap. Ensure mounting holes are aligned and install Torx(r) head bolt to support assembly.
4. Position support assembly with belt/retractor assembly and lap belt buckle strap assembly attached, to the seat and track assembly. Ensure safety belt wire and connectors are properly routed between the seat frame and seat track. Tighten retaining nut to 7-11 Nm (5-8 lb-ft) and retaining bolts to 30-40 Nm (23-29 lb-ft). The rubber washer must be installed between the support assembly and seat track at rear attachment. Refer to provided illustration.
5. Secure safety belt wiring connectors to the metal connector mounting bracket on seat track. Refer to provided illustration.
6. Install front seat and seat track assembly into vehicle. Connect seat wiring to floor harness.
7. Connect shoulder safety strap to the emergency release buckle of the motor and track assembly.
NOTE: Twist shoulder safety belt one-half turn, as shown, prior to connecting to emergency release buckle assembly. Shoulder safety belt should lay flat against seat back when cycled to B-pillar. If not, disconnect safety belt, remove turn in belt and install shoulder belt back to emergency release buckle.
