Steering Wheel: Service and Repair

1. Disarm airbag system.
2. Remove airbag module attaching nuts at rear of steering wheel.
3. Disconnect airbag module electrical connector.
4. Loosen steering wheel attaching bolt four to six turns.
5. Install steering wheel puller tool T67L-3600-A or equivalent, then remove steering wheel attaching bolt.
6. Remove steering wheel.

CAUTION: Ensure not to damage airbag clockspring or module when removing steering wheel.

7. Reverse procedure to install. Torque steering wheel attaching bolt to 23-33 ft lb. Torque airbag module attaching screws to 17-26 in lb.
8. Reactivate airbag system.
