Oil Pressure Gauge: Description and Operation

The oil pressure indicating system consists of a sender unit mounted on the righthand side of the engine block and a gauge mounted in the instrument cluster.
When engine oil pressure is low, the sender resistance is high, resulting in low current flow through the gauge and little pointer movement.
