Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming: Service and Repair

DEACTIVATE
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Wait one minute for back-up power supply to discharge stored energy. Disconnect the back-up power supply.

NOTE: The back-up power supply is a blue box located on some models, on the outer LH side of the glove compartment, and attached to the instrument panel.

3. Remove four bolts retaining airbag module to steering wheel.
4. Disconnect airbag connector.
5. Connect Rotunda Airbag Simulator 105-00008 to vehicle harness at top of steering column.
6. Connect battery ground cable.

REACTIVATE
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Wait one minute for backup power supply to deplete stored energy.
3. Remove airbag simulator from vehicle harness at top of steering column.
4. Connect airbag connector.
5. Position airbag on steering wheel, tighten and secure with four bolts.
6. Connect battery ground cable.
7. Verify system operation.
