LATERAL LINK

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove rear wheel.
2. Remove rear stabilizer bar.
3. Remove cap covering front and rear lateral link pivot bolts, then position a floor jack stand under rear suspension crossmember.
4. Remove bolts securing rear suspension crossmember to vehicle frame, then lower floor jack stand to allow rear suspension crossmember to be lowered from vehicle frame.
5. Remove front and rear lateral link pivot nut, washer and bolt from the crossmember, then remove front and rear lateral links from crossmember.
6. Remove bolt, washers and nut securing front and rear lateral links to rear wheel spindle, then remove front and rear lateral links.
7. Remove nuts securing parking brake cable and cable bracket to trailing link.
8. Remove trailing link bolts and washers from vehicle frame and rear wheel spindle, then remove rear trailing link.
9. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Torque trailing link front bolt to 46-69 ft.lbs. and rear bolt to 69-93 ft. lbs.
b. Torque front and rear lateral link nut at rear spindle to 63-86 ft. lbs.
c. Torque front and rear lateral link nut at rear suspension crossmember to 50-70 ft. lbs.
d. Install stabilizer bar washers, bushings, sleeve and nut and tighten so that .64-.72 inches of thread is exposed.
