Rear Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
FRONT1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove accessory drive belt.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Remove righthand splash shield.
5. Remove timing belt as outlined under TIMING BELT & COVER.
6. Remove crankshaft sprocket and belt guide.
7. Remove front crankshaft seal from oil pump body using a suitable seal remover.
8. Reverse procedure to install, using seal installer tool No. T81P-6700-A, or equivalent.
REAR
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove transaxle and flywheel assembly.
3. Remove engine cover plate.
4. With a sharp awl, punch a hole in metal part of rear crankshaft seal.
5. Remove seal using jet plug remover tool No. T77L-9533-B, or equivalent.
6. Reverse procedure to install, using seal installation tool Nos. T88P-6701-B2 and T88P-6701-B1, or equivalent.
