Removal and Installation

Pump brake pedal several times to exhaust any vacuum in the booster.
1. On Capri models, disconnect battery cables, then remove battery from vehicle.
2. On all models, remove master cylinder.
3. Disconnect rubber hose connecting intake manifold to power brake unit.
4. Remove spring clip in brake pedal clevis pin.
5. Remove brake pedal clevis pin, then brake pedal push rod from brake pedal.
6. Remove power brake unit attaching nuts, then power brake unit from vehicle.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque booster to dash panel retaining nuts to 14-19 ft. lbs.
