Removal and Installation

REMOVAL
1. Remove wheel and tire assembly, then brake pads as previously outlined.
2. Remove brake flex hose retaining clip from strut assembly bracket.
3. Remove the banjo bolt attaching the brake flex hose to the caliper, Fig. 33.
4. Remove the two copper washers that seal the flex hose banjo fitting, then discard washers.
5. Remove the lower caliper retaining bolt.
6. Using a cold chisel, remove the upper caliper guide pin dust cap. This will give access to the Allen head guide pin.
7. Using an Allen wrench, loosen and remove upper caliper guide pin.
8. Lift caliper off the rotor.
INSTALLATION
Before installation, remove upper and lower guide pin bushings and lubricate with high temperature grease D7AZ-19590-A or equivalent.
1. Install brake pads and shims as previously outlined.
2. Position caliper over rotor, then install caliper retaining bolts and torque to specification.
3. Install two new copper washers and banjo bolt on flex hose banjo fitting.
4. Position flex hose on caliper and install banjo bolt. Torque bolt to specification.
5. Perform system brake bleeding procedures, then install wheel and tire assembly.
