Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

Exhaust Gas Oxygen (EGO) Sensor Replacement:






1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove exhaust manifold heat shield.

Exhaust Gas Oxygen (EGO) Sensor Replacement:






4. Raise vehicle.
5. Using a suitable wrench, remove sensor.

INSTALLATION

1. Install sensor. Tighten to 22 - 36 ft lb (29 - 49 Nm).
2. Lower the vehicle.
3. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield and attaching bolts. Tighten the bolts to 69 - 95 in lb (8 - 11 Nm).
4. Plug in electrical connector.
5. Connect negative battery cable.
