Windshield Wiper and Washer System
The Interval Governor allows the driver to select LO, HI or Interval (INT) wiper operation. In INT, the wiper sweeps can be separated by one second to fifteen seconds.
During washer operation, normal wiping action continues with the wiper switch in LO or HI position. If the wiper switch is in the INT or OFF position, the wipers will operate at low speed. Low speed operation will continue for a few sweeps after the WASH switch is released. Wiper operation then returns to INT or OFF.
When the wiper switch is moved to OFF, the wipers will continue to sweep until the wipers reach the park position. The Interval Governor controls the wiper motor through the 61 (Y/R), 56 (DB/O) and 58 (W) wires. The position of the wipers (parked or not parked) is read through the 63 (R) and 28 (BK/PK) wires.
When the washer fluid is low, the Low Washer Fluid Level Switch will close, and an indicator will light when the wash switch is operated.
