With Heated Windshield

Alternator operation for heated windshield equipped vehicles is almost the same as that for vehicles without heated windshields. The main differences are: 1) power generated by the Alternator can be disconnected from the vehicle's electrical system and directed to the windshield only, and 2) the Heated Windshield Module can take over control of Alternator output and allow it to rise to 70 volts.

The Heated Windshield Module also controls the Charge Indicator.
