Without Autolamps

Voltage is present at the Main Light Switch at all times through the LAMPS FUSE Panel Fuse Link Cartridge.

Voltage is also present at the flash-to-pass switch portion of the Multi-Function Switch at all times through the LAMPS FUSE Panel Fuse Link Cartridge and the Main Light Switch.

Hi/Lo Beam Operation

With the Main Light Switch in the HEAD position, voltage is present at the dimmer switch portion of the Main Light Switch. Dimmer switch position then determines whether voltage is applied to circuit 12 (LG/BK) or 13 (R/BK) to power the Hi or Lo Beam Headlamps.

When the dimmer switch is in the HI position (Multi-Function Switch lever in position toward instrument panel), voltage is also applied to circuit 932 (GY/W) to illuminate the Hi Beam Indicator in the Instrument Cluster.

Moving the Main Light Switch to the PARK or OFF position turns off the Headlamps.

Flash-to-Pass

The Multi-Function Switch lever is pulled towards the driver, the flash-to-pass switch contacts close. Current flows through the Main Light Switch circuit breaker, circuit 221 (O/W), the flash-to-pass switch contacts circuit 12 (LG/BK) and the Hi Beam Headlamps to ground. The Hi Beam Headlamps illuminate until the lever is released.
