A/T - EPC Solenoid Damage During Overhaul

TRANSMISSION - AUTOMATIC - LACK OF FUNCTION, EPC SOLENOID CONTAMINATED AFTER CLEANING TRANSMISSION CASE.

ISSUE:
Solvent or other cleaning solutions, which are used to clean the transmission case are being used while the EPC solenoid is still mounted in the case. Contamination, from the case is being washed into the case and the EPC assembly. Also, Solvent and various cleaning solutions may cause damage to seals or gaskets in the EPC solenoid and other similar electronic components.
ACTION:
All internally exposed transmission electronic control components including the EPC, Shift Solenoids, Converter Clutch Solenoid and other similar electronic devices MUST be removed prior to cleaning and washing the transmission case with solvent or cleaning solution.
