Oil Pump: Service and Repair

Fig. 18 Oil Pump Assembly:

1. Remove camshaft covers, front cover and oil pan as previously described.
2. Remove timing chains as described under TIMING CHAINS, GEARS, TENSIONERS & GUIDES.
3. Remove oil pump mounting bolts, then remove oil pump, Fig. 18.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Align oil pump inner rotor with flat of crankshaft.
b. Torque oil pump attaching bolts to 6.-8.8 ft lbs.
