Speed Gradually Increases or Decreases After Speed Is Set

1. Check for proper operation of throttle linkage and actuator cable. If satisfactory, proceed to step 2. If not satisfactory, adjust or replace as necessary.
2. Check circuits 147, 148 and 149 for continuity. If there is continuity in all circuits, proceed to step 3. If there is not continuity in all circuits, repair or replace circuits as necessary.
3. Perform test on servo. If servo operation is satisfactory, proceed to step 4. If servo operation is not satisfactory, replace servo.
4. Perform speed sensor test. If sensor operation is satisfactory, proceed to step 5. If sensor operation is not satisfactory, replace sensor.
5. Check all electrical and vacuum connections. Check all vacuum lines for any leaks. If electrical and vacuum lines are satisfactory, proceed to step 6. If electrical and vacuum lines are not satisfactory, repair or replace as necessary.
6. Replace amplifier with known good amplifier. If system operation is satisfactory, replace amplifier. If system operation is still not satisfactory, ensure all system electrical connectors have proper contact.
