Speed Control Display In Electronic Cluster Does Not Turn On

1. Check color of amplifier. If amplifier is brown, proceed to step 2. If amplifier is tan, replace amplifier with a brown amplifier.
2. Remove eight and six pin connectors from amplifier. Turn ignition switch to the RUN position, then connect a digital voltmeter with a DC voltage scale from orange/light blue (circuit 203) of eight pin connector to black (ground) circuit of the six pin connector. If voltmeter reads approximately five volts DC, proceed to step 4. If voltmeter does not read approximately five volts DC, proceed to step 3.
3. Check for continuity in orange/light blue (circuit 203) from eight-pin connector to cluster connector. If continuity exists, proceed to step 4. If continuity does not exist, repair open in circuit 203.
4. Turn ignition switch to the RUN position, then connect a jumper wire between orange/light blue (circuit 203) of the eight pin connector to the black (ground) in six pin connector. If speed control display comes on, replace the amplifier. If display does not come on, problem is in the instrument cluster.
