AFFECTED VEHICLES
1992-model Thunderbirds and Cougars equipped with 3.8L engines having calibration codes 2-16T-R10 and 2-16F-R10 only and manufactured at the Lorain Assembly Plant from 12/05/91 through 1/13/92.
REASONS FOR RECALL
The affected Thunderbirds and Cougars may have been manufactured with incorrect electronic engine control (EEC) processors.
SERVICE ACTION/DELIVERY HOLD RELEASE
Cars returned for service must be carefully inspected and, if necessary, the electronic engine control (EEC) processors are to be replaced. The Lorain Assembly Plant has replaced an undetermined number of the processors but these cars can not be specifically identified. The delivery hold announced in the referenced mailgrams is released when this service is provided.
