Throttle Body: Service and Repair

Throttle Body:

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Partially drain cooling system.
3. Remove accelerator cable from throttle body.
4. Remove air duct.
5. Mark all vacuum and coolant hoses to ensure proper routing and connection during reassembly procedures.
6. Disconnect and remove vacuum and coolant hoses from throttle body.
7. Disconnect throttle position sensor connector.
8. Remove throttle body attaching nuts and bolts.
9. Remove throttle body and gasket(s).


INSTALLATION
1. Install new gasket and position throttle body onto intake manifold.
2. Install three attaching nuts and one bolt.
Torque to 12 - 17 ft lb (16 - 23 Nm).
3. Reconnect throttle position sensor electrical connector.
4. Reconnect vacuum and coolant hoses.
5. Install air duct.
6. Install accelerator cable.
7. Connect negative battery cable.
8. Refill cooling system to proper level.
