Fuel Pressure Control Solenoid: Description and Operation
Exhaust Gas Recirculation Solenoid Vacuum Valve:
PURPOSE
The Fuel Pressure Regulator Control (PRC) solenoid is a normally closed solenoid that controls vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator.
LOCATION
Mounted on cowl panel near CANP solenoid.
OPERATION
On a hot start, the ECA closes the PRC solenoid and vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator is cut. This increases fuel rail pressure, preventing fuel percolation that may cause hard starts during hot engine restarts.
