Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

WARNING: DO NOT smoke or carry an open flame of any type while working on or near fuel related component(s).

REMOVAL
1. Depressurize fuel system.
2. Disconnect negative battery cable.
3. Remove throttle body.
4. Remove fuel inlet line from fuel rail.
5. Disconnect fuel return line from fuel rail.
6. Remove electrical connectors at injectors.
7. Remove pressure regulator.
8. Remove attaching bolts and fuel rail.
9. Remove fuel injectors.
10. Remove O-rings from injectors.

INSTALLATION
1. Install new O-rings onto injectors and lubricate with clean engine oil.
2. Position fuel injectors into cylinder head.
3. Position fuel rail onto injectors and install attaching bolts. Torque to 14 - 19 ft lb (19 - 25 Nm).
5. Install electrical connectors to injectors.
4. Install fuel return line to pressure regulator.
6. Install fuel supply line to fuel rail.
7. Install throttle body.
8. Connect fuel pump connector.
9. Install rear seat cushion and connect battery cable.
