Fuel Filler Hose: Service and Repair

WARNING: DO NOT smoke or carry an open flame of any type while working on or near fuel related component(s).

REMOVAL
1. Depressurize fuel system.
2. Disconnect negative battery cable.
3. Completely drain fuel tank into an approved container.

4. Remove filler cap, tether, and filler neck retaining screws inside filler door.
5. Raise vehicle and support with safety stands.
6. Remove tank drain plug and drain remaining fuel into an approved safety container.
7. Install drain plug and torque to 9 - 13 ft lb (12 - 18 Nm).
8. Remove clamps and hoses at filler neck.
9. Remove retaining screw from inside wheel well.
10. Remove filler neck, gaskets and bracket.


INSTALLATION
1. Install filler neck, brackets, and gaskets. Secure by installing retaining screw inside wheel well.
2. Install two hoses with clamps to filler neck assembly.
3. Secure neck to body using the two retaining screws.
4. Add fuel tank. Verify filler neck connections DO NOT leak.
5. Install filler cap.
6. START engine and let idle. Verify fuel system does NOT leak.
