CONVERTIBLE TOP - REPLACEMENT OF OLDER TOP FRAMES - VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE 7/15/92

This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to include several parts which were inadvertently omitted.

ISSUE:
Older level convertible wide header top frames are no longer available. They have been superseded by the new level narrow header convertible top assemblies which were introduced in production on July 15, 1992.

ACTION:
If replacement of an older level convertible wide header top frame is required, install a new level narrow header convertible top assembly. Also, replace the door sliding window and front window channel/quarter window glass assemblies with new level parts to accommodate the narrow header convertible top.

DOOR GLASS ALIGNMENT SETTINGS ARE NOT ALTERED WITH THE UPGRADE TO THE NARROW HEADER CONVERTIBLE TOP AND ADJUSTMENT METHODS REMAIN THE SAME.

NOTE:
CONVERTIBLE NARROW HEADER TOP FRAME AND TOP COVER MATERIAL ARE AVAILABLE AS SEPARATE SERVICE PARTS AND ARE ALSO INCLUDED IN THE PARTS BLOCK OF THIS ARTICLE.

NOTE:
WIDE HEADER CONVERTIBLE TOP MATERIAL WILL REMAIN AVAILABLE AS A SERVICE PART.
