Electronic Fuel Injection - EFI

REMOVAL:

1. Relieve the fuel system pressure, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF.
2. Remove the fuel supply manifold, refer to FUEL SUPPLY MANIFOLD.
3. Grasping the fuel injector body, pull up while gently rocking from side to side.
4. Inspect the injector O-rings (two per injector) for signs of deterioration. Replace as required.
5. Inspect the injector plastic hat (covering the injector pintle) and washer for signs of deterioration. Replace as required. If the hat is missing, look for it in the intake manifold.

INSTALLATION:

1. Lubricate new O-rings with clean engine oil and install two on each injector.
2. Install the injectors, using a slight twisting, pushing motion to install them.
3. Carefully seat the fuel supply manifold on the injectors.
4. Complete the installation of the fuel supply manifold.
5. Start the engine and run it for two minutes and check for fuel leaks.
