Removal and Replacement

Air Bypass Valve:

REMOVAL:

1. Disconnect the air bypass valve assembly connector.
2. Remove the two air bypass valve retaining screws.
3. Remove the air bypass valve and gasket.

NOTE: If scraping is necessary, use caution not to damage the air bypass valve or throttle body gasket sealing surfaces or drop material into the throttle body.

INSTALLATION:

1. Be sure the throttle body and air bypass valve gasket surfaces are clean.
2. Install a new gasket on the throttle body surface and mount the air bypass valve assembly.
3. Install the two retaining screws and tighten to 8-11 Nm (71-97 lb.in).
4. Connect the electrical connector to the air bypass valve.
