ISSUE:
Incorrect or unadjustable line pressure after installing a valve body into the 4EAT transmission may be caused by a TV cable that is not engaged in the valve body throttle cam.
ACTION:
Make sure the TV cable is engaged in the valve body throttle cam. Refer to the following procedures for service details.
1. Remove the top bolt from the transmission case, Figure 1.
2. Install pin into hole on throttle cam, Figure 2 and 3.
3. After the valve body is installed, remove pin and install bolt, Figure 4. Refer to the 1991 Escort/Tracer Shop Manual for valve body service details.
NOTE:
WHEN INSTALLING THE BOLT, IT IS NECESSARY TO APPLY SEALANT TO PREVENT OIL LEAKAGE.
4. Line pressure must still be set by the throttle cable, using a gauge on the line pressure port.
