Fig. 1 Front Shock/Strut Assembly Exploded View:

1. Remove front shock/strut assembly as described under FRONT SHOCK & STRUT ASSEMBLY.
2. Remove cap from top of shock/strut assembly.
3. Secure shock/strut assembly mounting block in a vise, then turn piston rod nut one full revolution to loosen.
4. Install an appropriate spring compressor onto shock/strut spring, then compress spring.
5. Remove nut, mounting block, thrust bearing, upper spring seat, rubber spring seat, coil spring and bound stopper. Fig. 1.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Torque piston rod nut to 58-81 ft. lbs.
