Fuel Rail: Service and Repair

Fuel Pressure Regulator And PCV Valve Location:

Fuel Rail:

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Relieve the fuel system pressure, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF.
3. Disconnect the fuel pressure and return line spring lock couplings.
4. Disconnect the PCV hose from the intake plenum and cylinder head cover.
5. Disconnect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose.
6. Disconnect the fuel injector wiring harness connectors.
7. Remove the fuel rail mounting bolts and remove the fuel rail.

INSTALLATION:

1. Place the fuel rail into it's mounting position.
2. Install the fuel rail mounting bolts and tighten to 19-25 Nm (14-19 lb.ft).
3. Connect the fuel injector wiring harness electrical connectors.
4. Connect the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator.
5. Connect the PCV hose to the intake plenum and cylinder head cover.
6. Connect the fuel line spring lock couplings.
7. Connect the negative battery cable.
8. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.
