Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

Fuel Pressure Regulator:

REMOVAL:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Relieve the fuel system pressure, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF.
3. Disconnect the regulator vacuum hose.
4. Disconnect the fuel return line from the regulator.
5. Remove the regulator mounting bolts and remove the pressure regulator and O-ring.

INSTALLATION:

1. Install a new O-ring on the fuel pressure regulator.
2. Place the regulator into its position and install the mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts to 8-11 Nm (69-95 lb.in).
3. Connect the fuel return line to the pressure regulator.
4. Connect the regulator vacuum hose.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.
