With Analog Voltmeter

NOTE: Test all switches individually. Leaving a switch ON while testing another will lead to a false test result.

1. Turn engine OFF, and allow to cool.
2. Turn all accessories OFF.
3. Place transmission in PARK (A/T) or NEUTRAL (M/T).
4. Turn ignition key ON.

Diagnostic Connector (STO/STI):

5. Jumper STI of diagnostic connector to ground, connect analog voltmeter positive (+) lead to SML of diagnostic connector and negative (-) lead to engine ground.
6. Exercise all switches listed in Switch Monitor Test Chart.

Switch Monitor Test Chart:

IF ALL SWITCHES CHECK OK, proceed with Component Verification Test. Component Verification Test

IF ONE OR MORE SWITCHES FAIL, proceed to Diagnostic Charts. Testing and Inspection

IF ALL SWITCHES FAIL, proceed with Switch Monitor Lamp Test. SML - Switch Monitor Lamp
