With Scan Tool

NOTE: It may be necessary to service non-EEC faults before running the Quick Test.
Deviation from this procedure may cause false codes.
1. START engine and bring up to operating temperature.

IF ENGINE WILL NOT START, proceed with No Start Symptom Test.

2. Turn the key OFF, wait ten seconds.
3. ACTIVATE the self test (refer to scan tool manufacturer's owner's manual for instructions).
4. Turn ignition key ON.
5. Record all codes received.
6. Turn the ignition key OFF and DEACTIVATE the self-test.

IF NO CODES ARE STORED AND ENGINE STARTS, proceed with Key On Engine Running Self Test.

IF ANY CODES ARE RECEIVED, proceed with Erase and Retest.

IF SCAN TOOL TESTER ALWAYS DISPLAYS STO LO OR VOM ALWAYS DISPLAYS 0 VOLTS, Proceed with STI - Self Test Input checks.

IF NO CODES ARE RECEIVED AND ENGINE DOES NOT START, see No Start Symptom Test.
