Control Assembly: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

NOTE: Although the climate control assemblies for vehicles with and without A/C are different, the removal and installation procedures are similar. The following procedures illustrate the removal and installation of the climate control assembly for vehicles equipped with A/C. These procedures can be used for non-A/C vehicles.

Glove Compartment:





1. Remove the two screws and remove the glove compartment.

Control Cables:





2. Disconnect the RECIRC/FRESH air control cable from the RECIRC/FRESH air cam and from the heater-A/C control cable clip.

Cam And Cable:





3. Disconnect the cable from the air conditioner and heater control cam and the heater-A/C control cable clip.

Lever And Cable:





4. Disconnect the temperature cable from the heater air regulator control lever and the heater-A/C control cable clip.

Instrument Panel Insert:





5. Remove the instrument finish panel insert.
6. Remove the four climate control assembly screws.
7. Partially pull the climate control assembly out of the instrument panel finish panel.

Blower Motor Switch:





8. Disconnect the blower motor switch electrical connector.
9. Disconnect the illumination lamp electrical connector.
10. Remove the climate control assembly.

INSTALLATION
1. Route each climate control cable to its appropriate cam.
2. Connect the illumination lamp electrical connector.
3. Connect the blower motor switch electrical connector.
4. Position the climate control assembly and install the four climate control assembly screws.
5. Install the instrument finish panel insert.
6. Adjust the temperature cable and the function control cable.
7. Install the glove compartment.
