Rear

The rear disc brake system consists of a solid disc rotor and a single piston caliper. The brake pads are held in position between the caliper and the rotor by two guides, two shims and an ``M'' spring. It is not necessary to remove the caliper completely to replace the brake pads; the pads can be removed simply by pivoting the caliper on its mounting bracket.
The parking brake cable is attached to the caliper at the operating lever. When the parking brake is applied, the operating lever pushes the connecting link against the piston which forces application of the brake pads. When the parking brake is released, pressure against the piston is released and the brake pads return to their unapplied position.
