Front Center Sensor
RemovalWARNING: THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT NECESSARY FOR SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT IS POWERED DIRECTLY FROM THE BATTERY AND BACKUP POWER SUPPLY. TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY, THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE AND BACKUP POWER SUPPLY MUST BE DISCONNECTED PRIOR TO SERVICING OR REPLACING ANY SYSTEM COMPONENTS.
NOTE: To repair stripped front outboard sensor retaining screws, replace screws with 6 mm self-tapping screws. Tighten to 2.7-3.7 Nm (24-33 lb-in).
1. Disconnect battery ground cable and backup power supply.
2. Remove air induction resonator.
3. Disconnect center front sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove three screws retaining center front sensor to radiator support. Remove sensor from vehicle.
Installation
1. Position front center sensor with arrow on top pointing toward front of vehicle and secure to radiator support with three retaining screws. Tighten screws to 3.3-4.5 Nm (29-40 lb-in).
2. Connect front center sensor wire lead connector to wiring assembly connector.
3. Install air induction resonator.
4. Connect backup power supply and battery ground cable.
5. Verify air bag indicator.
