EGR Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
WARNING: EGR components transport hot exhaust gases. Contact with hot EGR components may cause severe burns. Wear protective gloves or allow the vehicle sufficient time to cool.
1. Remove the EGR vacuum hose.
2. Remove EGR mounting bolts, and remove the EGR valve from the EGR spacer. Discard gasket.
INSTALLATION
NOTE: Lightly oil all bolts and threads prior to installation.
1. Install the EGR valve and the new gasket to the intake manifold. Torque the mounting bolts to 18-26 Nm (13-19 lb-ft).
2. Install the EGR vacuum hose. Refer to Powertrain Management/Emission Control Systems/Exhaust Gas Recirculation/Testing and Inspection/Procedures and test EGR operation.
