Vacuum Control Motors

FLOOR DEFROST DOOR
1. Remove the floor air distribution duct assembly.
2. Remove the push nut retaining vacuum motor arm to floor defrost door crank arm.
3. Remove two nuts retaining the vacuum motor to motor bracket.
4. Disengage motor from mounting bracket and motor arm from door crank arm.
5. Remove motor from plenum and disconnect the vacuum hoses from motor.
6. Reverse procedure to install.

OUTSIDE RECIRCULATING DOOR

Models Less Automatic Temperature Control System
1. Remove spring nut retaining outside recirculating air door vacuum motor arm to door crank arm.
2. Disconnect vacuum motor arm and washer from crank arm.
3. Disconnect assist spring and second washer from control arm.
4. Disconnect white vacuum hose from vacuum motor.
5. Remove retaining nuts, then the vacuum motor and assist spring mounting bracket.
6. Reverse procedure to install.

Models W/Automatic Temperature Control System
1. Remove spring nut retaining the outside recirculating door vacuum motor arm to the outside recirculating door crank arm.
2. Remove two nuts retaining the vacuum motor to mounting bracket.
3. Disengage vacuum motor from mounting bracket and the door crank arm.
4. Disconnect vacuum hose and remove the motor.
5. Reverse procedure to install.

PANEL DOOR-FULL AND/OR PARTIAL
1. Remove plenum from vehicle, as described under ``Heater Core, Replace.''
2. Reach through defroster nozzle opening and remove sleeve nut attaching vacuum motor arm to door.
3. Remove two screws attaching vacuum motor to mounting bracket.
4. Disengage vacuum motor from plenum and disconnect vacuum hose from vacuum motor.
5. Reverse procedure to install.




FLOOR PANEL DOOR




1. Remove I/P as described under ``Instrument Panel, Replace'' and evaporator case as described under ``Evaporator Case, Replace.''
2. Remove two motor-to-bracket attaching nuts and disconnect vacuum hose.
3. Disconnect arm from pivot shaft.
4. Remove motor.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Check operation of all instrument panel items.



PANEL DEFROST DOOR





1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove I/P as described under, ``Instrument Panel, Replace.''
3. Remove panel defrost door vacuum motor arm from door shaft.
4. Remove two nuts retaining vacuum motor to mounting bracket.
5. Remove the vacuum motor from mounting bracket, then disconnect vacuum hose.
6. Reverse procedure to install.




OUTSIDE RECIRCULATION DOOR





1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Unfasten and lower glove compartment door to provide access to recirculation duct assembly.
3. Disconnect vacuum hose from vacuum motor.
4. Remove motor arm retainer from door crank arm.
5. Remove two vacuum motor retaining nuts and the motor.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
