Camshaft: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system.
2. Remove radiator, then A/C condenser (if equipped).
3. Remove grille.
4. Remove intake manifolds as described under INTAKE MANIFOLD.
5. Remove lifters as described under HYDRAULIC VALVE LIFTERS.
6. Remove front cover and timing chain as described under FRONT COVER.
7. Remove oil pan as described under OIL PAN.
8. Remove camshaft from front of engine, ensuring not to damage bearings or lobes.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Lubricate cam lobes and bearings with suitable lubricant.
