Installation
Brake Caliper:
1. Use a 4-inch C-clamp and wood block 70 mm x 25 mm (2-3/4 inch x 1-inch) and approximately 19 mm (3/4 inch) thick to seat caliper hydraulic piston in its bore. This must be done to provide clearance for caliper assembly to fit over rotor during installation.
CAUTION: Extra care must be taken during this procedure to prevent damage to plastic piston. Metal or sharp objects cannot come into direct contact with piston surface or damage will result.
2. Remove all rust buildup from inside of caliper legs (outer pad contact area).
3. To install inner pad with 3-finger clip attached to pad into piston, grab each end of pad, making it square with piston. Push firmly until pad clip snaps into piston. Do not allow pad or clip tangs to cock during installation.
CAUTION: Do not bend pad clips during installation in piston or distortion and rattles can occur.
4. Install correct outer pad and lining assembly. Ensure clips are properly seated.
5. Install caliper.
WARNING: Before moving vehicle, pump brake pedal several times to be sure it is firm. Do not move vehicle until a firm pedal is obtained.
