Air Injection Pump: Description and Operation

Thermactor Air Supply Pump:

A positive displacement, vane-type air pump supplies additional air for the MTA System. The pump is belt driven and mounted to the front of the engine.

Air inlet to the pump is supplied through a hose attached to the clean side of the air cleaner or to a remote filter/silencer assembly. To meet different applications and satisfy varying pulley ratios, a 19 ci pump and a 22 ci pump are available.
