Removal






1. Position the vehicle on a hoist, remove the oil level dipstick and disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Disconnect the air filter cover retaining clips to allow free movement when the engine is raised.
3. Remove the two bolts retaining the radiator shroud to the radiator and pull the radiator shroud loose from the lower retaining clips.






4. Install the Engine Support Fixture D88L-6OO0-A, or equivalent.
5. Raise the vehicle on the hoist.
6. Position a drain pan and drain the engine oil.
7. Remove the engine oil filter.
8. Remove the engine mount through bolts.
9. Loosen the transmission mount nut to allow the mount to move when the engine is raised.
10. Partially lower the vehicle.






11. Raise the engine (approximately 2 inches) using the support fixture.
12. Raise the vehicle on the hoist.






13. Remove the power steering cooler line retaining clips.






14. Remove the bolt securing the transmission lines to the engine block (right hand side).






15. Disconnect the electrical connector frQm the low oil level sensor located In the oil pan, ifso equipped.






16. Remove the engine oil pan retaining bolts.






17. Remove the steering shaft pinch bolt and separate the steering shaft from the power steering rack assembly.






18. Position two jacks stands under the engine support sub-frame.






19. Remove the lower strut-to-control arm bolts and nuts (both sides).
20. While supporting the engine support sub-frame on the jack stands remove the six rearward bolts on the sub-frame. Loosen the two forward bolts on the sub-frame.
21. Lower the sub-frame.
22. Remove the oil pump/pick-up tube assembly and place it in the oil pan.
23. Remove the engine oil pan.
24. Empty any residual oil from the oil pan.
