Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Intake Manifold - Exploded View:
1. Disconnect the Idle Speed Control Bypass Air (ISC-BPA) valve (throttle air bypass valve) electrical connector.
2. Remove the two ISC-BPA retaining bolts, then remove the valve from the vehicle.
3. Clean the mating surfaces, being careful not to damage the surfaces or drop material into the throttle body.
4. Install the valve on the throttle body using a new gasket.
5. Install the retaining bolts, torquing them to 71-102 lbs. in. (8-11 N-m).
6. Install the ISC-BPA valve electrical connector.
7. Since the ECA will be receiving a different signal from the TP sensor, it may be necessary to adjust the idle speed. Refer to Idle Speed Adjustment for procedures.
