Cabin Temperature Sensor / Switch: Description and Operation

The sensor assembly is located behind the instrument panel above the ATC control head and the clock. A small opening in the instrument panel allows passenger compartment air to enter the sensor. The sensor contains a thermistor that senses air temperature. The thermistor provides an electrical input to the control module on the ATC control head.
The sensor assembly also includes an aspirator and a foam sensor inlet seal. The aspirator provides a very small vacuum to draw a continuous sampling of passenger compartment air across the thermistor. Primary air is ducted to the sensor via a tube from the blower stream providing the power to operate the aspirator.
