EGR Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVALWARNING: EGR components transport hot exhaust gases. Contact with hot EGR components may cause severe burns. Wear protective gloves or allow the vehicle sufficient time to cool.
Throttle Body:
1. Remove the EGR vacuum hose.
2. Remove the EGR valve mounting bolts, from the EGR spacer, remove the EGR valve, and discard the gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the EGR valve to the EGR spacer, with a new gasket. Torque the EGR valve mounting bolts to 16-24 Nm (12-18 lb-ft).
2. Install the EGR valve vacuum hose. Refer to Powertrain Management/Emission Control Systems/Exhaust Gas Recirculation/Testing and Inspection/Procedures for the appropriate test procedure, and check EGR operation.
