M/T - Shift Lever Separates From Housing

TRANSMISSION - SHIFT LEVER - SEPARATES FROM ITS HOUSING

ISSUE: The shift lever may separate from its housing and drop out of position. This occurs because the shift housing insulator bonding fails.



ACTION: Install a new shift lever. Refer to the 1991 Capri Shop Manual, Section 16-37, for service details.
