Reverse Clutch
DISASSEMBLEExploded View Of Clutch Assembly:
1. Refer to the Exploded View Of Clutch Assembly image for disassembling procedure.
ASSEMBLE
1. Apply small amount of automatic transaxle fluid to inner and outer faces of seal, then install on rear clutch. Face outer seal lip toward the inside by gently rolling it down around the circumference for easier installation.
2. Install drum in reverse and forward drum.
3. Install reverse piston by pushing evenly around circumference, ensuring not to damage outer seal.
4. Install piston return spring with tabs
Installing Piston Return Spring And Stopper:
5. Install return spring stopper with step facing upwards.
6. Install snap ring half-way down the reverse forward drum.
7. Compress spring and retainer using suitable tool No. T88C-77000-AH or equivalent.
8. Install snap ring with suitable screwdriver.
9. Install dished plate with dished side facing the piston.
10. Install retaining plate with the step facing downward, then install snap ring.
11. Measure clearance of snap ring and retaining plate. Clearance should be 0.059-0.071 inch.

12. If clearance is not as specified, select a retaining plate which will bring clearance to specification from the Reverse Clutch Pressure Plate Thickness Chart.
