Throttle Cable/Linkage: Adjustments




PEDAL FREEPLAY ADJUSTMENT

1. Perform idle speed adjustments, if necessary.

Throttle Cable Adjusting Nut:






2. Measure cable freeplay at the accelerator pedal. Freeplay should be 0.04-0.12 inch (1-3 mm).

3. If necessary, loosen the locknut at cable housing brace and make needed adjustments.
4. After proper freeplay is achieved, tighten the locknut at the cable housing brace.


WIDE OPEN THROTTLE ADJUSTMENT

1. Verify accelerator cable freeplay is correct.
2. Depress the accelerator pedal completely to the floor.
3. Remove the air inlet tube and verify the throttle plate is in the wide open position.
4. If necessary, loosen the locknut at the cable housing brace.

5. Turn the pedal stop screw at the pedal bracket to make necessary adjustments.
6. After adjustments are completed, tighten the locknut.
