Recall - Vehicle Emission Control Label Replacement: Overview

SUBJECT: Emissions Recall 91E06 - Vehicle Emission Control Information/Important Engine Information Label Replacement on Certain 1990 and 1991-Model California vehicles.


AFFECTED VEHICLES The following California vehicles are affected:

^ Certain 1990 and 1991-Model E & F-Series Light Trucks and F-Series Medium and Super Duty Trucks equipped with 5.8L/6.1L/7.0L and 7.5L engines,

^ 1991 F-Series Light Trucks equipped with 5.0L engines,

^ 1991-Model Explorers equipped with 4.0L engines,

^ 1991-Model Capri equipped with 1.6L engines, and

^ 1991-Model Town Car equipped with 4.6L engines.

REASONS FOR RECALL The Vehicle Emission Control Information/Important
Engine Information Labels installed on some of the
affected vehicles may not have the correct general
or bar code information. The State of California,
Department of Motor Vehicles and Air Resources Board
require that labels with the corrected information
be attached to vehicles.

SERVICE ACTION Owners of the affected vehicles will be mailed
corrected labels with instructions to attach labels
to their vehicles. They will be given the option to
have dealers install the labels.

Contact your FPSD District office if additional labels are required. Refer to Attachment II, to determine the labels to request.
