STEERING - DRIFT OR PULL TO THE RIGHT - VEHICLES WITH DUNLOP TIRES
LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1991 CAPRI
ISSUE: Steering drift or pull to the right may be caused by improper wheel alignment or the belt configuration of the Dunlop tires.
ACTION: If service is required, use the following diagnosis and service procedure to correct the drift/pull condition.
1. Check the 4-wheel alignment. If necessary, set to correct specifications as specified in TSB article 91-1-5.
2. Swap tire/wheel from the left side of car to the right side, one axle at a time, to identify if one tire is at fault. If one tire is at fault, replace it.

3. If the vehicle still drifts or pulls to the right, check the build dates on the tires, Figure 1. If the build date is 380 (38=week 38, 0=1990) or earlier, replace all 4 tires with Dunlop tires built the week of 390 or later.
NOTE: IF TIRE REPLACEMENT IS NECESSARY, CONTACT YOUR LOCAL DUNLOP TIRE DEALER AND MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE TIRE DEALER FOR 4 DUNLOP P185/60 R14 82H SP SPORT D8 REPLACEMENT TIRES.
