CONVERTIBLE TOP DURABILITY UPGRADE

CONCERN
The convertible top cover material may be damaged during the stowage operation by the metal frame linkage causing holes and knife-like cuts.

SERVICE ACTION

This service information is provided as instructions to upgrade and improve the durability of the L/M Capri Convertible Softtop.

It is important that all upgrades be performed in the order given carrying out instructions as required on both sides of the vehicle.

PARTS DESCRIPTION





The parts used in this rework are identified in Figure 1. Part numbers are listed in "Parts" section, page 47.

INSPECTION FOR SOFT TOP MATERIAL DAMAGE

If the convertible top cover material is torn then the cover material should be replaced before commencing this durability upgrade.





Figure 2 shows the areas to inspect for cuts/tears.





NOTE:
All of the procedures are most easily performed by starting with the rear of the convertible top cover material in the raised position and with the stowage lid raised. Refer to Figure 3.
